I thought the first spot was a brackish lake, but after only catching eastern mosquitofish and mayan cichlids I'm not so sure anymore. In addition to those two species, I also saw what I believe to be a couple sheepshead minnows. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get those to bite. For the last several minutes before I called it a day I ended up fishing a different body of water about a five minute walk from the first lake. This spot seemed to be more brackish and I ended up catching a couple mangrove mosquitofish, a species I've never caught before. While most of the day was rather disappointing, ending it with a new species for the lifelist is always a success.
